Okay, so he's misidentified as Ben Windsor, because Windsor is actually where he's from.  But Ben Smith most certainly does not play golf like a journalist-- he actually has game and kills the ball off the tee.  And he can parse a sentence like nobody's business.

Earlier this year Nike introduced the VR Pro Driver to follow their irons of the same name.  The pear-shaped driver allows for more weight at the optimal center of gravity and delivers a hotter launch with optimal spin for better players.  The club also includes a Variable Compression Channel of different thicknesses across the clubhead, increasing speed and delivering greater distance on draws, stingers, high cuts, fades, and other go-to shots that are intentionally hit ...

<!--EXCERPT-->

Just in case you need another example of golfers' general lack of imagination (and if you are wearing khakis right now this especially applies to you), consider the marks most players put on their golf balls to help identify them in case of a tournament mishap: these marks generally run the entire gamut from one dot all the way to two dots.  Okay, some players draw a line through the name of the ball, and ...

One time while I was visiting Bandon Dunes resort I went into the bar to meet up with my friends and looked around the room and for the life of me could not tell one group of skinny grey-haired white guys with collared logo shirts and pulled-down golf hats from another.  I had to walk from table to table trying to distinguish my pals from every other guy's pals.  Even though I had dinner with ...

<!--EXCERPT-->
When I was last in Australia there was some hilarity among our hosts about a product called Berocca, which they looked upon as a magic potion combining the best properties of Gatorade, speed, and Viagra.  The Aussies partied mercilessly knowing that tomorrow they could reach for the elegantly shaped tin, pull a lozenge of Berocca out, drop it in water, and watch it miraculously alchemize into like six months of prior healthy consumption of vegetables, ...

<!--EXCERPT-->
You've just got to love an engineer who redesigns a part of his product so that you won't spill your beer.  At this year's PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, I met Kevin Kimberley, who invented-- and has now vastly improved-- the best bag carrier in golf: Clicgear's new 3.0 model.  In 2007 the original compact three wheel golf cart won the Best New Product award at the show.  But that wasn't enough for Kimberley, and ...

If you thought the motion-capture technology used in such movies as Lord of the Rings and King Kong was cool, now you can serve as the model for a motion picturing starring, well, you. The bad news? It’s a golf movie.
Filming could take place at the TaylorMade Performance Lab located in Portland, OR (as mine did) or at an increasing number of other such labs worldwide. In Portland, cordial and amusing PGA pro and golf-teaching ...
